Easter Sunday

For Easter, we went to church on Saturday evening so Jackson could go to the egg hunt at the Country Club on Sunday morning. He only got one egg! Then we went to the ball room for Easter brunch with the Wilsons, my mom and my boss Jen and her husband Tom.

A Not So Good Friday

My mom and I took Jackson to Build A Bear on Good Friday to build him an Easter Bunny. The plan was to build the bunny and then have him get his picture taken with the Easter bunny in the mall. Well, Jackson pretty much cried and screamed all day on Friday. When we got him to Build A Bear, he went back and forth between enjoying the experience and throwing temper tantrums. We ended up with a bare chick since the bunnies looked too girly and after the chick got stuffed he didn't want to play anymore. I got a few pictures that weren't so horrible and they did call me when I accidentally left my camera there.

Daddy's Stuff

Jackson has this obsession with EVERYTHING of Scott's. His hat, his shoes, golf clubs, whatever he can get his hands on. It's so cute!

Bathketball

Anne Marie got this bathketball set for Jackson for his birthday and he loves it. He will sit and just throw the ball in over and over and over again. He even goes into the bathroom just to play with it when it's not bathtime. When he realized I was filming him he looked up and said "Hi," and then started doing his new dance that Claudia and Emma taught him. As you can see from the pictures above, he did NOT want to get out of the tub.

Tonight Jackson also said "Whoa," which was pretty funny. On Sunday, he touched Libby over and over and kept saying "Dog." His vocabulary is expanding quickly. Now that he can open doors he's getting into EVERYTHING. He even keeps using the dog stairs to get on our bed! He has to be watched EVERY SECOND because he's so quick.

Tuesday Evening Adventures

We went for a walk tonight since the weather is finally warming up. I gave Jackson a container of peas to eat on the walk to keep him busy and he actually ate them all instead of just throwing the container while it was full (which is what I expected). When we got home I gave him some leftover vegetable lasagna (that I cooked last night). After dinner I started running his bath water and he shut the bathroom door on me and then opened it again a few seconds later laughing. He's such a goofball!

Monday Mischief

When Jackson and I got home from the grocery store tonight, I got him out of his car seat and stood him next to the car so I could grab our shopping bags. He started walking towards the door and when I got to him, he was opening the door to the house! While I was cooking I noticed he was trying (and would have been successfully had I not stopped him) pulling things off of the kitchen counter. After dinner I started walking towards his bathroom and he opened that door too and immediately tried to play in the toilet water. Since they don't make baby proofing things for our type of door knobs I'm not sure yet what we're going to do. Any ideas?

My Two Boys

Today we went to the club for lunch and as I was closing out our ticket I lost my two boys. I found them playing around in the grass by the putting green and just had to take pictures of what I saw. Especially with the mountains in the background. Scott can't wait for Jackson to be able to play with him especially since everyone keeps asking if he's ready yet!

Fun, Family Fridays

What a week! Now that Jackson is in daycare part time, Scott is able to sleep so we get to spend some family time together during the week. It breaks my heart when I drop him off because he clings to my leg and screams but Gina says he stops within two minutes. Tonight Jackson and Scott started playing with the exercise ball and it was just too funny. I got some on video but I'm having problems splicing it so I took pictures too.

Last Thursday night there was a pool tournament at the country club so we shared a sitter with the Wilsons and Andrea, Marilyn and I watched our husbands play (well not so much watching really). Friday night was a birthday party (again at the club) so we got a sitter and had dinner with the Wilsons and the Gauges. Saturday night we were tired so we went - you guessed it - to the Wilson's for dinner and cooked steak and shrimp. Jackson had a great time with Emma and Claudia even though he was terrified of their dogs. He would scream and run whenever they came near him, even their tiny chihuahua! I found him sitting in a chair with Emma (she was eating so he had to climb up there of course - She was kind enough to share her Chex Mix with him). I thought these pictures were too cute.

Practicing for Easter

Jackson's Easter basket came in on Thursday and I left it on the entry table after I got it out of the box...Well, he found it and started walking around the house and putting things in it. I bought some plastic eggs this weekend so he can start practicing for the real thing. Our country club does an Easter egg hunt and I don't want him to just stand there and watch all the other kids and cry. Hopefully he'll get the hang of it by then.
