Home Again

After 9 days in ATX which went by entirely too fast, we are back in Albuquerque and missing our family and friends in the great state of Texas. Here are some highlights from our trip...

My mom's gorgeous Christmas tree (I was disappointed when she told me she didn't put up the big tree like she usually does but the white one was so pretty I wanted to get one for myself!)

Spending time with Meemo & Poppie, Granny, Jannie, Troy and other family and friends

Running around Granny's house like a mad man

Running around Granny's house like a naked mad man

My first trip to Gattiland (Fortunately for Mommy but to Daddy's dismay we don't have those in NM)
Opening presents

Entertaining people at the airport (This was my first time to fly since I learned to walk which made it extra fun for Mommy & Daddy!)

Egg Headed Bow Boy

Jackson fell down in Granny's kitchen yesterday and hit his forehead on the leg of a chair. It looks like he got in a fight or something with the cut next to his eye, the bruise on the side of his head and now the egg between his eyes! Does anyone know where I can buy an infant helmet? After all the drama, Jannie put a bow on his head from the present she gave him. Thank you Jannie!

S-ann-ta was good to me for my first Christmas!

A picture of all of the presents (which were mostly for me).

I started unwrapping before I was supposed to so I opened one of Poppie's presents for him.

That was fun! So I went for some more.

Mommy made us all get dressed and take pictures before we could open presents.

Finally...

We sure missed everyone we didn't get to see this year and thought about Paw-Paw all day since he was in the hospital. Hope you get better soon Paw-Paw, I want you to come and visit me!

Jackson and his BFF

Our friends Nicole and Brian had a baby in early September. Cameron Crafton and Jackson are BFFs! Nicole sent me this picture today and I just had to post it.

Oh Christmas Tree

When Jackson and I got home from running errands this evening I realized that we won't be here to enjoy our tree or decorations after tomorrow. It kind of made me sad. I took some pictures of him standing and walking around in front of it. He is walking so well. Last Friday, he walked all the way around Toys R Us!

Here is a picture of him after the shopping trip. He was exhausted.

A Christmas Photo Shoot

So my plans for our Christmas card didn't work out quite like expected. It happens to be very difficult to get two spoiled yorkies and a very spirited 10 month old all to cooperate at the same time. I think between Scott and I we took 200 pictures. I hope you enjoy some of the reject photos...you'll have to wait to get your card in the mail to see the finished product.

"War Face"

Jackson has this face he makes when he wants something that Scott calls his "war face." He scrunches up his nose, sticks out his lips and breathes loudly. He looks like a Marine running into battle (Full Metal Jacket). Here are photos of the face...

Dear Santa,

I have been such a good boy this year....

I played well with others

I only got a little jealous when my mommy held other people's babies

I entertained myself in the car when my Baby Einstein DVDs got old

I learned to walk, say my Daddy's name and make other funny sounds & faces

I didn't cry when I met you for the first time

And most importantly, I brought smiles to a LOT of people's faces.

All I want is a memorable first Christmas. (Oh, and a new diamond pendant for my mommy. And if he's been good too, daddy and I could have fun if you brought him his own golf cart)
XOXO - Jackson

Giving Thanks

I am thankful for my cabinet in the kitchen which kept me busy while everyone else was cooking our Thanksgiving meal!

I am thankful for Granny and Meemo who came to visit me on my very first Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for my little spoon that matches mommy's fancy silver so I can eat like everyone else!
I am thankful for my new Nike's that help me walk so much better and match my new outfit that Granny brought me!

I am thankful for the snow because I will have so much fun playing in it when I'm bigger!

And last but not least, I am thankful for my room so I can sleep after a busy day!

An Autumn Day in the Park

Last Saturday, the weather was perfect so we went to the park. We pushed Jackson in one of the swings for awhile, introduced him to the slide and made complete fools of ourselves by attempting to use the monkey bars. Seriously, I can't believe I used to be able to do that! I think Scott and I had almost as much fun playing as Jackson did. Scott is not going to appreciate me posting this picture of him but I just couldn't resist.

Supermodel!

One of our supermodels - Adriana Lima - visited last week. It was our location’s 10 year anniversary so she, our President, AVP and some other executives came out to NM. The news was there, the mayor, the chamber of commerce president and someone from city planning. The mayor declared September 6th Victoria’s Secret Day! Here's a picture. Bet you wish you were here!

Big Busy Boy

Last week Scott and I took Jackson to the doctor for his 9 month checkup and his flu shot. He weighs 25 pounds and is 30" long - 90th percentile in everything which means his growth is slowing since he used to be 95th in everything. He has four teeth - two top, two bottom - and he loves to clap his hands, make babbling sounds, click his tongue and feed animal crackers to the dogs (which he thinks is hilarious by the way). He is getting too fast for me to keep up with. He pulls all of the books off the bookshelves, pulls everything out of drawers - thanks Mom - and has figured out how to open cabinets. As I'm writing this he has made quite a mess in our office. At this point I'm still finding it kind of amusing that he'd rather make a mess with CDs, paper, books, clothes and whatever else he can get his hands on than the loads of toys he has to play with. He's so curious about everything and I'm amazed at what he has figured out already. I hope you enjoy these bathtime pictures of our brilliant, big and busy baby boy.

Halloween

Jackson, Libby and Major were all pumpkins for Halloween. I took Jackson up to work for a family event and then we met Christine and her girls Bailey and Mackenzie for trick or treating. They were "a goth mime" - Mackenzie and "a dead bride's daughter" - Bailey of course. We got home at around 8:15 and I actually got to give out candy! I've never been home on Halloween since we've lived in this house (three years) so it was exciting for me even though I only got one trick or treater and it was a friend's daughter. Scott said we got a lot of trick or treaters while we were out trick or treating so he didn't get any sleep because the doorbell kept ringing. Here's some pictures of our little pumpkins.

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Last Sunday, Scott and I took Jackson to the pumpkin patch in Corralles. They had a corn maze and at the end you got to pick your pumpkin, look at farm animals and go on a hay ride back to the beginning. I was a little disappointed in the fact that there were hardly any pumpkins left because I wanted pictures of Jackson with pumpkins everywhere but that's probably what we get for going the last weekend before Halloween. There's always next year.

The best part was watching Jackson swing in the park. I took a video of it with my digital camera because he giggled the whole time. My boys are so cute aren't they?

Mischievous

I was working in the office last weekend while Scott was sleeping. I had Jackson in with me since he likes to pull all of the books off the shelves and get into everything in the drawers. Well, I watched him crawl into the hallway and into the guest bathroom so I got up to make sure he wasn't getting into anything and walked to the kitchen to get some water. When I came back about 30 seconds later this is what I saw.

Welcome

Welcome to our blog! So, Regina suggested I start blogging about Jackson and all of the events in the Avery household so here it is. I hope you enjoy it! I will try to update it often so you can keep up with us.
