13 Months!

Jackson is 13 months old today. We can't believe how fast the time goes by. He has added "Uh oh" to his list of words that he says that actually do make sense. "Hi" has become more of a "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyyyyy!" or "Hi hi hi hi hi hi hi!" We can't wait to see what another month brings! And no, we did not buy him a pink blanket. It's Claudia and Emma's...

Bam Bam!

When I dropped Jackson off at daycare yesterday, Gina told me she calls Jackson "Bam Bam" because he tackles the other kids. What have we gotten ourselves into? Scott is already thinking he has a future NFL linebacker named "Bam Bam Avery." He also said a new word today! Christine and Bailey came by earlier and Jackson said "no." We always knew that would be one of his first words since he hears it so often!

He doesn't look so tough here does he?

Shopping Saturdays

Yesterday, Jackson and I went on our Saturday shopping trip while Scott played golf. We got some 75% off items at Dillards (mostly shoes), a cell phone case for me at the Apple store and a leash for Jackson at Toys R Us. Yes, that's right. I think the correct term is "child harness" but let's face it: It's a leash! He threw a temper tantrum when I put it on him but then got used to it. I like that he can still run around but not run away. We met Scott up at the club for dinner and Jackson was pretty well-behaved for the most part. Here's some pictures from Valentine's Day when my boys brought me lunch at work in their matching Polos. It melted my heart.

Jackson's Fleet

Jackson got a Winnie the Pooh ride-on car for Christmas from Jen & Tom. For his birthday, he got a ride-on Mickey plane from his Granny, a Spiderman ride-on car from the Chavez family, a battery powered Tot Rod from Granny and Aunt Jannie and a battery powered Golf Cart. Right now, he loves them all and especially likes to ride around in his Tot Rod outside. It has a handle so we can control the power and direction on it until he gets bigger. He's figured out that the little button on the steering wheel makes him go, he just hasn't figured out that he needs to push it harder to make it go. Right now, he just goes along for the ride. We can't wait for it to warm up!

Jackson's Dedication

On Saturday evening after Jackson's birthday party, we went to church and had him dedicated. I know what you're thinking, he's a year old already! I waited because I wanted people to actually be in town so I thought what a better weekend than his party? He did really well during the actual dedication but afterward we tried to let him sit through the rest of the service and he kept saying "Hi!" to every single person who looked at him. He ended up in the nursery. When we took these pictures at home afterward, he took turns giving us kisses for a few minutes without us having to ask for sugars!

Jackson's Birthday Party

Jackson's birthday party was a success. Despite staying up with Janet until nearly 3am (t0 re-make all of the cupcakes - to make a long story short), the food was ready and everything was perfect. Here are some pictures from Jackson's big day!
