We Survived!

Last Thursday night (Friday morning actually) I heard Jackson screaming from his room at around 1am. I went in and turned on the lights and there was puke everywhere. I gave him a bath, changed his sheets, cleaned everything up and called the Pediatrician's office. The nurse on call kept me on the phone for about 20 minutes or so asking a ton of questions and giving me a list of things to reasons to call her back. I grabbed a ton of towels, bibs and burp cloths and put Jackson in bed with me so I could watch him. Every 15 minutes or so he would start throwing up but he was so tired he couldn't even hold up his head. Around 4am his vomit was a bright yellow-green color so I called the nurse back. This time she instructed me to take him to the ER. Since it's down the street we were there very shortly. Jackson was so lethargic that he didn't even care that the nurse was weighing him and poking and prodding. The nurse immediately brought in supplies for blood work and an IV. It took 7 attempts and 5 nurses before they finally got a good vein since he was so dehydrated. It killed us to watch! The first blood sample they took also wasn't good so they had to do that twice. Here's some pictures from our poor baby's first illness. As you can see, he's doing much better today!

Happy Mother's Day!

First, we'd like to apologize to those of you who get Mother's Day cards from us. We had computer issues last week so I couldn't get them to the printer until Saturday which means they didn't get postmarked until Saturday (or maybe even Monday). Hopefully you've received them by now! Now that our computer is back up and running (thanks to a quick call to Dell Technical Support) I can share our Mother's Day pictures with you! We went to the zoo with the Wilson family and afterwards, Scott, Jackson & I ran some errands in town. We had so much fun!

Driving Us Crazy

Jackson has figured out that if he sits inside his Tot Rod and presses the button on the steering wheel that it will move. He just hasn't figured out how the steering wheel will guide it yet. Thank goodness for the back handle! The Tot Rod disturbs Libby so much. She runs after it and barks. I took Jackson outside yesterday so he could drive it without crashing as often, me guide it less and not have to listen to Libby bark.

His favorite food is bananas and he's starting to look like a little boy, not a baby which kind of makes me both happy and sad. Sad because he was such a cute baby but happy because he's becoming such a handsome boy. A very curious handsome little boy...Notice he's trying to open the door to our room?

More Mischief

Today Jackson opened the door to the garage and ran outside. He's so fast, it's scary that he can open that heavy door now. Yesterday he dumped a box of Teddy Grahams all over the living room floor. Today it was Nilla Wafers in our bed after pulling a cup of red juice from the dining room table and spilling it EVERYWHERE (it was even on the walls).
