Adventures of the Birthday Boy

We let Jackson open a few of his birthday presents tonight even though his party isn't until Saturday. He LOVES the ball pit! Right now it has a temporary home in our living room until I find a more suitable place for it. However, I thought you might enjoy these pictures from Jackson's actual birthday!

Jackson is One!

We can’t believe a year has already gone by. It seems like such a whirlwind since we found out we were going to have Jackson after trying for so long, to the day he was born, to his first tooth, first steps, and now his first birthday! Jackson has blessed our lives in more ways than he will ever know this past year. We feel like we are the luckiest parents in the world to have such a sweet, happy and healthy boy. He has the most big beautiful blue eyes, rosy cheeks, funny sense of humor and strong will & determination that we have ever seen on a one year old! We pray that God will keep him safe and healthy and that we will be the best parents we can be. We have so many hopes and dreams for Jackson and look forward to helping him make his own hopes and dreams come true too likes he's done for so many of ours. Happy birthday sweet boy! We love you more than you can ever imagine.

A Game of One on One: Jackson V. Libby

Probably the biggest hit so far from Christmas is the small UT basketball that Granny put in Jackson's stocking. Since our house has mostly tile floors, Jackson loves to bounce it and chase after it. Often times, Libby will join Jackson in the chasing of the ball and Jackson laughs because he thinks Libby is really playing with him. It's really funny to watch them play and even funnier to watch him chase her around when she's no longer interested. Major just sits back and watches.

Baby It's Cold Outside!

The top left is Jackson taking his shoes and running from me when I'm trying to get him bundled up so we can go run errands. He really thinks this is funny. It is difficult get Jackson dressed because once you get the shoes on he's got the hat off and this is an ongoing process for the shirt, pants, socks, shoes, hat and coat. And don't even get me started on mittens. The bottom right is 45 minutes after the first picture. Now I understand why some parents just let their children run around in diapers.

Happy Anniversary Uncle Greg & Aunt Lana!

We hope you had a wonderful anniversary. Here's a kiss for you both (in case you didn't get enough from each other already).

Happy Birthday Aunt Marci!

I tried to get Jackson to cooperate tonight for some pictures for Aunt Marci's birthday. He didn't want to take pictures.

However, when I followed him to the kitchen (he was trying to get away from me) and he heard the radio on he started dancing (not for long though). Since I had my Flip handy, this is what I got.

I guess dancing put him in a better mood because then he started blowing kisses and I thought I got that too...but I'm still trying to figure this thing out so I really didn't get it. Happy Birthday Aunt Marci! We hope you enjoy your (brief) dance.

Macaroni Mess

Since we've been feeding Jackson mostly table foods, I've been buying a lot of "Gerber Graduates" entrees at the grocery store. Tonight I gave Jackson one of the Macaroni & Cheese meals after he ate all of his green beans. As usual, he tried to grab the spoon from me, flung it, and food went everywhere. However, this time, I decided to see if he could figure out how to use it properly. As the pictures illustrate, I was right in thinking that he's just not quite ready to use utensils on his own. He sure had a lot of fun using his hands though!

He really shoves more than one finger in his mouth at a time. He's just trying to be a gentleman for the camera.

I tried to get him straight to the tub but he kept running from me and laughing!

Happy New Year!

Well, so much for one of my resolutions which was to update this thing more. We rang in the new year playing cards with Heather and Jeff. Jeff's adorable kiddos are visiting for the holidays so we got our little families together.

We've been so busy ever since we got back in town. We finally got our decorations down and now we're moving on to the next big event for our little family: Jackson's first birthday! Where has the time gone? This first year has flown by. I can't believe our little guy is going to be a year old. He's not just walking around anymore, he's running! Here he is running from Kobe.
